Fishermen buried Mrs. Khe weighing more than half a ton who washed ashore in Mui Ne sea
After discovering a 3m long, nearly 600kg dead turtle (also known as a leatherback turtle, or Ba Khe) in local waters, fishermen in Mui Ne ward, Phan Thiet city (Binh Thuan province) organized a funeral according to the customs of coastal people.
On October 3, fishermen in Mui Ne ward (Phan Thiet city, Binh Thuan province) completed the burial procedures for a rare turtle that was "stranded" in local waters.
Earlier, in the early morning of October 2, a fisherman in Mui Ne ward, while fishing at sea, suddenly discovered the body of a gray sea turtle with 7 ridges on its back like a star fruit, more than 3m long, weighing nearly 600kg drifting at sea.

According to the customs of coastal fishermen, this turtle is a very sacred animal, bringing good luck, and is called Ba Khe by fishermen. When this animal dies, if discovered by fishermen, they will hold a burial according to coastal residents' rituals. In addition, the person who discovers the "suffering" Ba Khe will have to mourn for 3 years.
