Mr. Tan, an old fisherman in Dien Ngoc commune, confided: For us fishermen, only the Lunar New Year has a long holiday, while New Year and other holidays we still go to sea as usual. The fishing time is short in the coastal waters, so the seafood harvest is not large. Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa, a seafood trader at Lach Van fishing port, said that fishermen's seafoodDien Chaucaught on the same day without being preserved with ice, so it is fresh and delicious. For seafood: squid, mantis shrimp, crab and other selected fish, after purchasing, they will be pre-processed and transported to rural markets for consumption; low-value seafood will be sold to animal feed processing facilities.

During the New Year holiday, the demand for fresh food at the markets will increase more than usual, so during the first days of the year, not only fishermen actively stay at sea, but seafood buyers like us are also busy all day.

According to Mr. Ngo Xuan Thuy - Manager of Lach Van fishing port, said: On the first daynew year2022, Dien Chau fishermen still stick to the sea. Because they fish close to shore, they only go back and forth during the day, the seafood they catch is not large, but each boat has an income of 100 to 300 kg of seafood of all kinds. From 10 am, fishing boats start returning to port, the bustling seafood trading scene only lasts for 2 hours.

"At noon on January 1, more than 50 fishing boats docked at the port, mainly small boats of fishermen in Dien Chau district. Seafood was purchased by traders from Dien Chau, Yen Thanh, Nghia Dan districts... Accordingly, the boat that caught a lot of squid, shrimp, and crab had a high value," said Mr. Ngo Xuan Thuy./.
