At Lach Con fishing port, in recent trips, the price of exported fish has increased by nearly 50% in value compared to last month, reaching more than 100 billion VND since the beginning of the year.

After 15 days, Mr. Mai's boat caught 5 tons of various kinds of seafood. Including 40 pairs of horseshoe crabs, nearly 50 kg of flower crabs, about 1 ton of miscellaneous fish, and the remaining 4 tons of anchovies.

At present, the prices of export items have increased by 5-10% compared to last month. The import price of horseshoe crab at the port is 400,000 VND/pair, type I flower crab is 320,000 VND/kg, grouper depending on weight fluctuates from 160,000 - 220,000 VND/kg, anchovy increased from 80,000 to 100,000 VND/kg, yellow melon fish from 160,000 to 270,000 VND/kg. These are export items that account for 67% of the value of the fishing industry in Hoang Mai town.

Fisherman Le Tien Lieu, Quyet Tien block, Quynh Phuong ward said: “Entering the Southern fishing season, my family proactively converted a small boat with a capacity of 100 horsepower to a large boat with a capacity of nearly 400 horsepower, with 11 workers. Since the Con temple festival, we have made 5 trips, exploiting Bach Long Vi island. Each trip caught 5-7 tons of various types of fish, 70% of which were exported. On average, each trip earned 6 million VND, fishermen were very excited, and boat owners like us were also confident to invest in fishing.”

Quynh Phuong fishermen are famous for being dynamic and flexible in exploitation, always proactive in finding stable output for their products. Since the beginning of the year, Quynh Phuong fishermen have exploited over 7,700 tons of fish of all kinds, the value of fishing has reached nearly 182 billion VND, of which, export revenue is 112 billion VND. This is the main source of income, as well as the driving force to promote fishing logistics services in the area to have conditions to develop more strongly.
