A cylindrical metal block weighing about 2 tons was salvaged by fishermen from a depth of about 30m, suspected to be part of an airplane engine.

On the morning of August 26, two fishermen, Tran Van Tinh (born in 1979) and Tran Van Tham (born in 1977), both residing in Dien Ngoc commune, Dien Chau district, were fishing about 20 nautical miles from the coast when they suddenly discovered a strange object caught in their net. The object was caught in the net at a depth of about 30m.

After discovering the strange object, the crew on board decided to use a machine to pull the object onto the boat.

When pulling it up, people discovered it was a cylindrical iron block, surrounded by many connecting pipes, weighing about 2 tons.

When the iron block was successfully loaded onto the boat, the two fishing boats stopped fishing and returned to shore.

At around 11 o'clock the same day, Mr. Tham's fishing boat brought the iron block ashore and reported the incident to the local authorities.

From the outside, many people believe that this could be part of a plane that crashed earlier. The iron block above looks like part of the plane's engine.

The metal block is currently being handed over to the fishermen’s family for safekeeping. The fishermen have pledged to preserve the metal block while waiting for authorities to determine its origin.
