Fishermen in Nghe An go fishing and 'catch' a magnetic bomb

(Baonghean.vn) - A magnetic bomb was discovered by a resident in Ngoc Son commune, Thanh Chuong district (Nghe An) protruding from the surface of Lam river flowing through Oi beach area on December 17.

According to information from the People's Committee of Ngoc Son commune, the bomb was discovered by a local while fishing at noon on December 17 at the Lam River flowing through the Oi beach area, about 1km from Ru Nguoc. At the scene, the bomb's tail was sticking out of the water, about 17 to 20cm long, and was identified as a magnetic bomb.

The bomb, which is estimated to be about 1.55m long, is still intact and has not exploded. It is known that this was a site of fierce bombing by the US imperialists during the war years. Previously, in the Ngoc Son commune area, people also discovered 5 other bombs.
