Jurgen Klopp found himself on the brink of a second successive defeat against Chelsea in four days. With the score still 1-0 in favour of the home side, Klopp decided to bring on the remaining striker, Daniel Sturridge.
What Klopp got next was a moment of superstardom. Sturridge received the ball for the first time from nearly 30 yards out, the striker decided to shoot without taking a run-up and sent the ball into the top corner to the amazement of the entire Stamford Bridge stadium. Sturridge's superb strike earned Liverpool a valuable point and prevented Chelsea from overtaking after seven rounds.

This was Sturridge's second consecutive goal against the team he played for from 2009-2013. In the midweek match, the English striker scored a beautiful goal with a volley but Liverpool ended the match in defeat.
Hazard, who scored Chelsea's winner in midweek, was on target again. The Belgian striker showed his form at the start of the season by running deep to meet Kovacic's through ball before beating Alisson from a tight angle. However, Hazard also missed the chance to seal the game when he failed to beat Alisson in a much more favourable one-on-one situation in the second half.
A draw is not a bad result for either team. Liverpool lost the top spot to Man City but are tied on 19 points and are only behind on goal difference. Meanwhile, Chelsea continue to follow the pair on 17 points in third place.

One point is not a bad result, but Chelsea have the right to regret not being able to secure the victory. The home team had reasonable tactics, limiting the destructive power of Liverpool's strikers and launching sharp counter-attacks.
In terms of chances, Chelsea had clear situations and if it weren't for Alisson's brilliance, Liverpool would have conceded a few goals after facing Hazard and Willian.
After the defeat in the League Cup in the middle of the week, coach Klopp launched the strongest possible lineup with the trio of Mane, Firmino and Salah in the starting lineup. Liverpool's goal is to maintain their perfect record in the Premier League right at Stamford Bridge. However, despite the different players, Liverpool still cannot solve the home team's defense problem.
Chelsea defended firmly in front of the 16m50 area, pushing Liverpool's strikers back to the middle of the field. In addition, the midfielders' ability to hold the ball and pass continuously helped Chelsea slow down the pace of the match, not being caught up in the visitors' fast-paced play.
This is a rare match where coach Sarri uses Kante alongside two new players Jorginho and Kovacic, but initially this trio made a good impression thanks to their ability to control the rhythm and quickly switch to counter-attacks.
The opening goal was a testament to the fluidity of Chelsea's midfielders in applying the style of play that Sarri had built. After a series of seemingly meaningless passes, Kovacic immediately launched a through ball when he saw Hazard in a position ready to accelerate. The Belgian midfielder's escape surprised Liverpool's defense and they could not stop Hazard from scoring his sixth goal in the Premier League this season.

Liverpool were forced to push up after conceding the goal. Their best chance in the first half was Salah getting past goalkeeper Kepa but his shot was blocked by Rudiger on the line. In the second half, Mane and Shaqiri had chances to shoot inside the box but both missed the goal.
It was only when Sturridge came on that the striker made a difference with an unstoppable long-range shot. Since his Premier League debut in 2007 with Man City, Sturridge has scored 17 goals from the bench, a record only surpassed by Chelsea striker Giroud with 19 goals.
