'Special One' Mourinho gets street named after him in Portugal
Rua da Saude in Setubal has been renamed Jose Mourinho Avenue in honour of the Man Utd manager.
Yesterday, October 3, Jose Mourinho, his family and a few friends flew to Setubal, one of Portugal's major cities, to attend the naming ceremony of a street named after him.
The city government decided to rename Rua da Saude to Avenida Jose Mourinho, to honor the 54-year-old coach's contributions to football, to the city of Setubal, as well as to the country of Portugal.

"Setubal is the only city where I feel like Ze Mario (Mourinho's Portuguese name)," the Man Utd manager shared. "This is where people treat me normally and make me feel peaceful."
Setubal mayor Maria das Dores Meira praised Jose Mourinho as a model citizen, and said the city was honored to be the birthplace of one of the world's best coaches.

"I am a pure Setubal, with both qualities and weaknesses. This honour is a great motivation for me," the former Chelsea coach said emotionally.I love Setubal because people here call me Ze, and consider the nickname 'The Special One' to be nonsense.”
The decision to name a street in Setubal after Mourinho was approved by the city government in 2013, to mark the 50th birthday of the two-time Champions League winner. However, it took four years for everything to be completed.

Despite his love for Setubal, Mourinho has left open the possibility of returning to live in the city. "I don't know what I will do after I leave football. I have been here since I was a child and I will continue to follow it. No matter what, Setubal will always be my home," he confided.
