Woman arrested for taking child to get money from selling drugs
(Baonghean.vn) - Greedy for profit, Truong Thi Oanh bought drugs and brought them home to hide and sell gradually. When she had a customer, Oanh took her child to the meeting place to get the money first and was arrested.
On November 13, Nghe An Provincial People's Court opened a first-instance criminal trial of defendants Truong Thi Oanh (born 1986), residing in Nghi Phong commune, Nghi Loc district, and Nguyen Dang Ngoc (born 1983, also known as Tru), residing in Nam Giang commune, Nam Dan district, for the crime of "Illegal drug trafficking".
Previously, on March 10, 2019, Tran Dang Ngoc was at home when a man named Thang called to ask to buy 100 pink pills. Ngoc called Nguyen Van Hau (born in 1990, residing in Ha Huy Tap ward, Vinh city) and asked "someone needs to buy 100 pills, how much do they cost?".
Hau quoted 6 million VND and said that when she got to the area near Nghe An Pedagogical College, she would call and a woman would bring her drugs to sell. Ngoc then called a man named Thang to quote the price and agree on the time and place to deliver the “goods”.

From Ngoc's testimony, Vinh City Police Department issued an emergency detention order and searched Truong Thi Oanh's residence, seizing 91.645 grams of crystal meth.
Oanh confessed that she bought the drugs from a man named Hung at the gate of Military Hospital 4 on March 6, 2019 for 20 million VND to sell for profit. On the afternoon of March 10, Hau called Oanh to ask to buy 2.9 million VND worth of drugs, so Oanh made an appointment to meet at a sweet soup shop on Ha Huy Tap Street. When Oanh took her daughter to the agreed location to get the money in advance, the police asked her to go to Vinh City Police Headquarters to work. A search of Oanh's house found 3 packages of drugs weighing 91.645 grams and an electronic scale in the wardrobe.
At the trial, the two defendants confessed to their crimes. Oanh confessed to buying drugs to hide in her house to sell for profit.
In this case, defendant Tran Dang Ngoc has aggravating circumstances due to his bad character. In 2003, Ngoc was sentenced by the People's Court of Nghe An province to 12 months in prison for the crime of "Extortion of property". In 2015, Ngoc was sentenced to 48 months in prison for the crime of "Violating regulations on controlling road vehicles".
Considering the case as a whole, the court sentenced Truong Thi Oanh to 17 years in prison and Nguyen Dang Ngoc to 9 years in prison for "Illegal drug trafficking".
As for Nguyen Van Hau, this person did not admit to introducing Oanh to Ngoc and did not participate in Ngoc's drug trafficking. The confrontation process also did not clarify whether Oanh and Hau sold drugs to Ngoc. Therefore, there was not enough basis to prosecute Hau. As for the men named Thang and Hung, because their background and specific addresses were not known, there was no basis for investigation and clarification.
