People are tormented by garbage overflowing on 8B Street.
(Baonghean.vn) - Domestic waste, construction waste, dead livestock... are flooding Highway 8B from Hung Thang Commune (Hung Nguyen) to Vinh City, causing environmental pollution and affecting traffic, making many people upset.
This is an inter-commune route connecting Hung Xuan commune through Hung Tien, Hung Thong, Hung Thang, Hung My (Hung Nguyen) communes... to Vinh city, so there are many means of transport.
According to residents, the garbage has been left uncollected for days, even months, and has given off a foul odor. This not only affects the environment and aesthetics, but also affects traffic safety when vehicles travel on this route.

The garbage dumps stretch for dozens of meters, spilling out onto the streets with all kinds of household waste, construction waste, rotten vegetables, dead animals... lying around for a long time, emitting a foul smell.
"These landfills are caused by the lack of awareness of local people. This person or that person throws a little, and every day the pollution gets more serious" - Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa, a resident living nearby said.

Taking advantage of vacant land, many drivers have also illegally dumped dozens of tons of construction waste on both sides of the road in Vinh Tan ward (Vinh city). Photo: Quynh Nguyen |
On sunny days it stinks, and on rainy days the dirty water from the dump flows out into the fields, bringing lots of flies and mosquitoes. Furthermore, when the wind is strong, plastic bags and sand and dust from construction waste fly all over the road, making it dangerous for vehicles passing through.

It is known that the communes bordering Highway 8B in Hung Nguyen District allow temporary waste collection near the road before the collection and transportation unit takes it away for treatment. However, because the collection date has not come yet, people throw it on the road, leading to pollution.

The authorities have not yet taken strong action against violators. Therefore, local residents still litter freely, while road users are tormented by the stench from these piles of garbage.
