Mountain people 'rescue' nearly 2,000 ducks to help farmers in the lowlands

(Baonghean) – From June 12 to 16, hundreds of people, officials, teachers, youths... in the mountainous district of Que Phong bought and sold nearly 2,000 ducks to help farmers in Yen Thanh district.

In the context of Yen Thanh district farmers facing difficulties in output, when commercial ducks reach the time for sale but cannot be consumed. At the peak, the price of live ducks dropped to only 20,000 VND/kg, but very few people bought them, causing farmers to suffer heavier losses.

With the spirit of mutual love and support, the volunteer group 'Que Phong People' has coordinated with the Youth Union of communes, towns, armed forces, schools in... Que Phong district to contact livestock farmers in Yen Thanh to help people.

From June 12 to 16, the volunteer group sold nearly 2,000 ducks, joining hands to 'rescue' were officials, civil servants, teachers, youth union members and people of Que Phong district.

Mr. Tran Tri, a duck farmer in Hong Thanh commune (Yen Thanh district) shared: "Thank you to the people of Que Phong mountain for helping the people of Yen Thanh lowland."

In the near future, the volunteer group plans to continue organizing many trips to transport ducks from Yen Thanh to Que Phong for consumption, helping farmers solve the problem of output.
