Nghe An people sell Phuc Trach grapefruit to help people in the storm-hit area

(Baonghean.vn) -In recent days, many places selling Phuc Trach grapefruit have appeared in Vinh City to support people in the area affected by storm No. 10 in Ha Tinh province.The sellers are people who are currently living and working in Nghe An.

After storm No. 10, thousands of grapefruits from Phuc Trach (Ha Tinh) were transported to Vinh city (Nghe An) for consumption. The person who organized these volunteer trips was Ms. Le Thi Cam Van (Teacher at Viet Anh Secondary School, Nghe An). Ms. Van was born in the homeland of grapefruits from Phuc Trach.

Ms. Van said that the program to sell Phuc Trach grapefruit to support farmers after storm No. 10 is expected to last for 1 week, starting from September 19. All grapefruit sold will be fully counted and the money will be transferred directly to the people. "We hope that the program will help farmers consume a lot of grapefruit to avoid the situation of being forced to buy at low prices after the storm," Ms. Van added.

The grapefruit consumption program to support people after the storm also received help from many individuals and students currently living and working in Vinh city. For example, Mr. Tran Kim Viet supported the entire cost of transporting grapefruit from Huong Khe district to Nghe An for free.

In particular, volunteer students from Vinh University, Viet Anh College, etc. also enthusiastically participated in selling grapefruit during this period.

My Linh, a student volunteer selling grapefruit, shared: “I think this is a meaningful program, especially since storm No. 10 has caused so much damage to the people of Ha Tinh. I just want to contribute my little effort to support the program.”

On September 19, the Phuc Trach grapefruit selling point to support farmers in the storm-hit area officially opened at 16 Phong Dinh Cang Street. On this day, 600 grapefruits were sold out to people in Vinh City. The program is expected to sell more at 8 other locations such as 89 Ha Huy Tap Street, 23 Namjangju Dasan Street, the gate of Viet Anh Primary and Kindergarten School, etc.
