Not complying with regulations and deliberately smoking on the plane, the male passenger was banned from flying for 12 months.

Recently, male passenger LVH (32 years old), permanent resident of Quy Hop, Nghe An, was banned from air transport for a period of time by the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam due to smoking in the restroom on the plane.

Previously, the Tan Son Nhat airport mobile security team received information from the Chief of Duty and deployed to the aircraft parking area to coordinate with the Southern Aviation Administration to support the airline representative to bring LVH passenger back for investigation and clarification according to regulations.

Many passengers still deliberately smoke on planes.

The male passenger was then forced to receive a 12-month transportation ban, from December 25, 2020 to December 24, 2021.

After the above deadline, passengers will continue to be subject to mandatory visual inspection for the next 6 months, from December 25, 2021 to June 24, 2022.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam requires Vietnamese and foreign airlines operating in Vietnam on domestic and international flights departing from Vietnam not to transport LVH passengers during the above deadline.

Vietnam Airports Corporation is responsible for directing airports to closely check and compare personal documents of air passengers to promptly detect, prevent and conduct mandatory visual checks within the time limit.
