The scrap collector returned the gold ring to its owner.
A man in Nam Dan district, while scavenging for scrap materials, found a plastic bag containing a valuable gold ring.
Shortly afterward, the man took the item to the local police station to ask them to contact the owner so he could return it.
Earlier, at around 2:15 PM on April 30th, Mr. Le Van Loi (born in 1983), residing in Hamlet 3, Khanh Son Commune, Nam Dan District, while collecting scrap materials at a garbage dump in Trung Phuc Cuong Commune, unexpectedly discovered a plastic bag containing a gold ring.

Shortly afterward, Mr. Loi brought the found item to the Trung Phuc Cuong Commune Police Station (Nam Dan District) to report and hand it over.
Upon receiving information and property from Mr. Loi, the Trung Phuc Cuong commune police promptly launched an investigation, employing various professional methods to verify and locate the rightful owner of the ring.
At approximately 5:30 PM on the same day, the police identified the owner of the ring as Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung (born in 1978), residing in Duc Bong commune, Vu Quang district, Ha Tinh province. Immediately afterward, the commune police contacted and invited Mr. Dung to the station to retrieve his property.
According to Mr. Dung, the ring is made of 9999 gold, weighs 3 taels (approximately 37.75 grams), and he bought it in early 2025 for nearly 30 million VND. While cleaning his house, he carelessly left the ring in his family's trash bag and was unaware of it until he was contacted by the Trung Phuc Cuong Commune Police.
Mr. Le Van Loi's actions not only demonstrate the admirable qualities of an honest citizen but also spread a positive message about honesty and noble deeds in everyday life. Despite his difficult circumstances and making a living by collecting scrap metal, Mr. Loi chose to act in a beautiful, honest, and humane way.
