A man in Nghe An was fined more than 260 million VND for illegally storing lion bones and claws.
On July 2, Standing Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Bui Thanh An signed Decision No. 62/QD-XPHC on administrative sanctions against Mr. HVK (born in 1976, residing in Dong Thanh commune, Nghe An province) for illegally purchasing and storing forest products.
According to the decision, Mr. HVK committed two violations. The first violation: Illegal purchase and storage of forest products, including evidence of wild animals in the List of endangered, precious, and rare wild animals, Group IIB. Specifically, the evidence of the violation included 33 claws and 1.7 kg of bones of a lion (scientific name: Panthera Leo), with a total value of 127,200,000 VND. This violation was fined 255,000,000 VND.

Second act: Illegal purchase and storage of forest products including common wild animals, including 5 wild boar tusks, with a total value of 7,500,000 VND. This act is punishable by a fine of 7,500,000 VND.
The total fine for Mr. HVK is 262,500,000 VND, along with the additional penalty of confiscating all the violated exhibits, including: 33 claws and 1.7 kg of lion bones and 05 wild boar fangs.
