Vietnamese beauty wins runner-up title at Miss Universe Canada 2017

21-year-old Diana Lai won the runner-up prize in the recent final round. The title of Miss Universe was awarded to Lauren Howe.

The final round of Miss Universe Canada 2017 was held on October 7 in Toronto. Through the evening gown and swimsuit competitions, the judges selected the top 20, top 10 and top 5.

Surpassing many competitors, Vietnamese-American girl Diana Lai excelled in the top 5 and won the 3rd runner-up prize. In addition, she was also in the top 3 of the Best Model award. On her personal page, Diana received many congratulations from friends and the Vietnamese online community.

The titles of first runner-up, second runner-up and fourth runner-up were awarded to Marta Magdalena Stepien, Meral Özerdinç and Kathryn Kohut respectively.

Diana Lai is of Ukrainian (mother) and Vietnamese (father) descent. She was born in Ukraine in 1996 and moved to Canada at the age of 15. Diana recently graduated with a degree in administrative information management from SAIT Institute of Technology in Calgary, Canada.
