Recently, Elizabeth Nguyen beat out 15,000 candidates to win the final “Maxim Cover Girl” – a contest to find a cover model for the famous American magazine Maxim. With this achievement, she received a prize of 25,000 USD and became the cover face for the first publication of 2020.
“I’m still speechless. Being on the cover of Maxim is a huge honor for me. I’ve always wanted to be a model, but I’ve always considered it a distant dream. I never thought it would come true,” Elizabeth Nguyen shared.

Elizabeth Nguyen is 20 years old, Vietnamese-American, currently living in Los Angeles. As shared, Elizabeth is not a professional model, but a figure skater. She has competed in the US national level 5 times and won a gold medal from the United States Figure Skating Federation (USFS).

Talking about her chance to enter the contest, Elizabeth revealed that she accidentally saw an advertisement for “Maxim Cover Girl” while scrolling through Instagram on the way to the ice skating rink in her father’s car.

Not only does Elizabeth have an impressive appearance, she is also a well-educated girl. She passed the entrance exam to study biochemistry at California State University. Before she put her studies on hold to pursue a modeling career, she had set her goal of becoming a pediatrician or a dermatologist.

“I’m not tall, nor do I look like a typical model. However, I am honored to be the first Asian American to win the Maxim Cover Girl contest. This achievement brings me closer to my goal,” Elizabeth shared.

Elizabeth is a girl with a lot of energy. In addition to figure skating, she also practices gymnastics, ballet, tennis and running. Thanks to that, she has hot curves, a flexible, toned body, along with the ability to master the camera.

Previously, she won the Miss Balboa Island Regionals 2020 beauty pageant in Orange County. Maxim commented that Elizabeth Nguyen impressed with her sharp eyes, outstanding body lines, inspiring and energetic personality.
As for her future goals, Elizabeth wants to continue to inspire by “being a beacon of hope” for minorities struggling in the fashion industry. “I hope to give them the voice and recognition they deserve,” the 20-year-old beauty emphasized.
