Indonesian beauty crowned Miss International 2017

Indonesian beauty won Miss International title.

The new beauty queen choked up at the moment of her coronation. She shared: "I can't believe I won. Thank you Miss International for giving me this opportunity. Indonesia, we did it!".

1st runner-up: Curacao.

Second runner-up: Venezuela.

3rd runner-up: Australia.

4th runner-up: Japan.

Previously, the Top 8 finalists were announced including beauties from Curacao, Ecuador, Japan, Laos, England, Venezuela, Indonesia and Australia.

The sub-awards announced include: Contestant with the most beautiful national costume: Japan. Contestant with the most beautiful body: Australia, Contestant with the most beautiful evening gown: Indonesia.

The Top 15 were named: Venezuela, Curacao, Slovakia, England, Ghana, Honduras, Japan, Ecuador, Laos, Indonesia, Finland, Panama, Thailand, Australia and South Africa.

After three rounds of National Costume, Swimsuit and Evening Gown, the MC announced the Miss Asia award for each continent. Miss Asia went to Korea, Miss America was the representative of Bolivia, Miss Europe was England, Miss Africa was awarded to Ghana and Miss Oceania was Zew Zealand.

In the Evening Gown Performance, Thuy Dung of Vietnam wore a mermaid dress showing off her curves by designer Anh Thu. Despite having chickenpox just 5 days before the final, Thuy Dung still maintained her beautiful and radiant appearance.

The contestants were radiant in evening gowns.

The swimsuit performance of Miss International contestants heated up the stage of the competition. This year, each contestant was given a choice of stylish outfits to suit her body type.

The gorgeous National Costume performance of the contestants opened the final round of Miss International 2017. Each beauty wore a costume with unique national identity.

Representing Vietnam, beauty Thuy Dung wore a costume inspired by the image of a stork. The bamboo leaf and stork motifs were hand-embroidered with thousands of crystal and glass beads. The costume was named Tien Dung - reminiscent of the ivory princess of the 18th Hung King. Due to health reasons, Thuy Dung did not wear the 2.5 kg crown as planned, but only wore a white feather.

Thuy Dung was born in 1996, is 1.72m tall and has measurements of 84-60-90. Thuy Dung won the 2nd runner-up prize of Miss Vietnam 2016 and the Talented Beauty prize. Before that, she was crowned Miss Foreign Trade University Ho Chi Minh City 2016. She is a fourth-year student majoring in International Finance at Foreign Trade University.

Miss International was founded in 1960 in the United States by the International Culture Association and is currently held annually in Tokyo, Japan. It is one of the oldest and most prestigious beauty pageants in the world. The message of the pageant is peace, love and understanding.

Vietnam first had a contestant in 1995, Truong Quynh Mai, and she entered the top 15. The highest achievement of a Vietnamese beauty in this beauty arena was the 3rd runner-up Thuy Van in 2015. Last year, Ao Dai runner-up Phuong Linh participated in the contest but did not achieve any results. The title of Miss International 2016 belonged to beauty Kylie Verzosa from the Philippines.
