Miss Vietnam's Kind Beauty Accused of Fraud - The Organizing Committee Will Verify to the End

The Organizing Committee of Miss Vietnam 2022 said it will verify when Ngoc Mai was accused of lying about a charity project.

In the final night of Miss Vietnam 2022, beauty Nguyen Ngoc Mai was named in the Top 5 finalists thanks to winning the Miss Charity award. However, she was accused by a social media account of lying about her charity project when sharing at the contest.

Specifically, in the Beauty with a Heart contest, Ngoc Mai shared that she used to be the head of the charity committee of the Vietnamese Student Association in the Netherlands, raising funds to coordinate with the Wellbeing organization to implement the Safe Classroom project, training soft skills for children. At the same time, she also mentioned the project in Suoi Giang, Yen Bai province, which she recently participated in the survey. She said that this project will focus on building weekly English classes, developing sustainable tourism and educating children.

However, this account accused the media of reporting Ngoc Mai's charity journey as untrue. This person said that Ngoc Mai had only been the head of the charity committee for 3 months and had not raised any money. The project was called Safety for Children, not Safe Classroom as Ngoc Mai had shared. The owner of this online account added that Ngoc Mai was completely unaware of the organization's content and operations and often appeared drunk during meetings.

The post quickly received great attention from the online community and caused a stir. Regarding this issue, Mr. Le Xuan Son - Head of the Organizing Committee and Head of the Jury of Miss Vietnam 2022 said that he had received the information. Mr. Son said that after reading the information, he discussed the incident with Ngoc Mai.

Ngoc Mai was accused by an account of lying when she was the head of a charity committee for 3 months and did not raise any money.

"Ngoc Mai confirmed that her participation in a certain project was real. Mai also said that there were many people who could vouch for her participation and level of positivity, all of whom were responsible people in the organization. Second, Ngoc Mai's attitude was relatively calm and I like that attitude. Of course, in the near future, our Organizing Committee will go to the end in verifying and clarifying the issue. I also hope that the other person will talk to us so that we can clarify and come to a final conclusion," the organizing committee shared.

Mr. Son added that when judging Ngoc Mai's charity project, the organizing committee did not judge past projects but only listened for reference. Because Ngoc Mai's sharing was during the preliminary round of the Charitable Beauty project, she only shared past experiences.

"Of course, the fact that Mai has participated in and worked on projects is a plus, but we still consider it important and decide on the charity project that she carried out during the Miss Vietnam 2022 contest. That is a project called Crescent Moon Inn, carried out to help the elderly in lonely circumstances. The Charity Subcommittee assessed this as the best project, from planning, implementation, implementation attitude and results achieved (raising 210 million VND). Mai was chosen to win the Miss Charity award thanks to her implementation of this project," said Mr. Son.

Mr. Le Xuan Son - Head of the Jury said that he had discussed with Ngoc Mai and would go to the end in verifying.

Regarding this noise, Ngoc Mai affirmed that the above accusations are baseless. The activities she participated in were confirmed through the certification papers of the student union president and related organizations. "I think that there will always be things that are fabricated and slandered. I hope everyone will be fair, look at my participation process and my efforts to have the most accurate assessment. I think that this will not affect me, because "a righteous tree is not afraid of dying standing up". However, she said that if the matter is pushed too far, she will seek the intervention of a lawyer.

She was born in 1999, from Nam Dinh, graduated from Entertainment Management and Event Organization at Stenden University, Netherlands. The beauty won a 3rd year cultural exchange scholarship - University of Alicante, Spain. She is one of the beauties with impressive academic achievements among the Miss Vietnam contestants this year. Ngoc Mai's strength is her foreign language ability with IELTS 8.0 and can communicate in Spanish.
