Lai Pao script was created by the Thai people living along the Nam Non River. Over the years, this script has been forgotten and is at risk of being lost. However, over the years, with the attention of all levels and sectors, those who love Lai Pao script have been diligently researching, collecting and passing it on to future generations. With the desire to learn to read and write their ethnic script, despite their old age and weak health, for more than a month now, the elderly people of Thai Xieng Lip village, Yen Hoa commune have regularly gone together twice a day (morning and evening) to learn their ethnic script. Meritorious artist Vi Kham Mun has researched and compiled materials himself to help students learn and remember easily. He said: “Learning Thai Lai Pao is quite difficult, and the students of this class are mainly elderly people, so in addition to compiling teaching materials that must be concise and succinct, when teaching, I always create a cheerful and exciting atmosphere in class so as not to put pressure on students and stimulate their desire to learn.” Photo: Dinh Tuan
