(Baonghean.vn) - It is currently the season for people in the mountainous areas to harvest upland rice. Because the fields are located on a steep slope, Mr. Va Ba Chay's family in Trung Tam village, Huoi Tu commune (Ky Son) has installed a pipeline system to transport the rice.

During each harvest, Mr. Va Ba Chay's family collects an average of 50 bags of rice. Because the family cannot transport it, they have to hire local people to carry it back, paying 60,000 VND/bag. With long-term considerations in mind, in 2016, his family installed a nearly 1,000 m long pipeline system from the field down to the national highway to collect the rice. Photo: Thang Binh |

This is the second crop of use, so before operating, he had to check and reinforce the pipeline. Photo: Thang Binh |

The amount of rice falling down is getting bigger and bigger, so the family has to assign people to be on duty regularly. Photo: Thang Binh |

Because the pipe is installed at a high slope, to prevent the rice from falling beyond the tarpaulin, a "speed-reducing" cloth is tied to the mouth of the pipe. Photo: Thang Binh |
