Thus, according to a survey published on December 15 by CBS news agency, the level of trust for US President-elect Donald Trump is much lower than that of his predecessors.
In December 2008, President-elect Barack Obama’s approval rating was 63%, while only 7% thought he would be a “bad” president. In 2000, about 50% of American voters believed President-elect George W. Bush would be a good leader, while only 14% thought otherwise.
According to a CBS survey, the level of trust in Mr. Trump is clearly divided between Republican and Democratic voters. While 70% of Republican voters trust President-elect Trump, 60% of Democratic voters do not think he will be a good president. In addition, 60% of American voters expressed concern about conflicts of interest when Mr. Trump takes office because of his business relationships.
The CBS poll was conducted with more than 1,200 American voters by phone from December 9-13. Another Gallup poll showed that Mr. Trump's upcoming cabinet will be the richest but least experienced cabinet in American history.
