Woman stabbed to death by robbers with 37 stab wounds

The autopsy results of the woman who died under unusual circumstances at her home in Tra Vinh showed 37 stab wounds suspected to have been caused by a Thai knife. One of these was a fatal puncture to the heart.

On October 1, the Investigation Police Agency of Tra Vinh Province announced that the autopsy results of the woman who died under unusual circumstances at her home in My Thap Hamlet (My Long Bac Commune, Cau Ngang District) showed that the victim, Tran Thi So Van (59 years old), had 37 stab wounds suspected to have been caused by a Thai knife.

One of the wounds was a fatal puncture wound to the heart. In addition, the victim’s two earlobes were torn off, possibly because of the stolen earrings. The victim died about 24 hours before the autopsy, which was the early morning of September 29.

Through the investigation of the scene, the authorities discovered that the aluminum cabinet where Ms. Van slept had been broken into, and many items inside the cabinet had blood stains. The victim was found dead at 6:20 a.m. on September 30 by Mr. Nguyen Van Nuoi (living in the same hamlet).

Mr. Nuoi went to Mrs. Van's house to spray pesticides on the rice. When he got home, he couldn't find Mrs. Van anywhere, so he went to look for her. He was shocked to find Mrs. Van lying dead on the floor, her body covered in a blanket, covered in blood.

Through the investigation of the scene and autopsy, it was confirmed that this was a case of murder and robbery. It is known that Ms. Van lived with a son named Nguyen Minh Thang (17 years old) who had a mental illness.

The investigation agency is urgently implementing professional measures to find the perpetrator.
