Woman prosecuted for failing to report crime

The People's Procuracy of Ky Son district has just approved the decision to prosecute Nguyen Thi Van, born in 1980, residing in Ba village, Huu Kiem commune, for the crime of "Failure to report a crime".
Accordingly, at about 5:00 a.m. on June 16, 2021, in Son Thanh village area, Ta Ca commune, Ky Son district, Ky Son district police coordinated with Nam Can International Border Gate Border Guard Station, Drug Prevention and Control Department (Nghe An Border Guard), Drug Prevention Team (Nghe An Customs Department) to arrest Duong Van Sang, born in 1973, residing in Tam Lanh commune, Phu Ninh district, Quang Nam province for the act ofdrug trafficking, seized evidence 01 heroin cake weighing 371g.

The investigation determined that Duong Van Sang and Nguyen Thi Van knew each other and lived together as husband and wife at a gold mining site in Quang Nam province. During this time, due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, Nguyen Thi Van returned to her hometown in Ky Son district, so Duong Van Sang went with her. During her stay in Ky Son, Sang met and bought from a stranger in Nam Can commune 01 cake of drugs (heroin) with the intention of bringing it to Quang Nam to sell for profit, however, while transporting the drugs, she was discovered and arrested.
For Nguyen Thi Van, during the time living together, although she knew Duong Van Sang had illegally traded in drugs, she did not...reportauthorities for timely handling. Currently, the Investigation Police Agency of Ky Son District Police is completing procedures to transfer the case for handling according to regulations.
