A pregnant woman, holding her two young children, jumped into a river to commit suicide.

(Baonghean.vn) - Due to family conflicts, a pregnant woman riding a motorbike with her two young children went to the bridge connecting the two communes of Dien Ngoc and Dien Hoa in Dien Chau district and suddenly jumped into the river to commit suicide.

On September 3rd, Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa, Chairman of the People's Committee of Dien Ngoc commune, Dien Chau district, confirmed that a pregnant woman jumped off the bridge connecting Dien Hoa and Dien Ngoc communes in an apparent suicide attempt.

The victim has been identified as Ms. Chu Thi V. (25 years old, residing in Dien Chau district). Her two children are Vo Thi V. (4 years old) and Vo Gia H. (3 years old).

According to initial information, at around 11:00 AM on September 3rd, Ms. Chu Thi V. rode her motorbike with her two young children to the foot of the bridge, then abandoned the motorbike by the roadside and jumped into the river with her two children in her arms to commit suicide.

The incident occurred at midday when it was deserted and few people were around, so no one noticed. Around 12 PM that same day, some local residents discovered sandals, a shirt, a hat, and a motorbike on the riverbank, suspecting someone had jumped into the river. Therefore, they reported it to the local authorities and organized a search.

After more than an hour of searching, authorities and local residents recovered the body of Ms. V., who had passed away. By 3 PM the same day, authorities had recovered the body of child H. Currently, the authorities of the two communes, along with the police and a team of divers, are actively searching for child V.

According to local residents, the initial cause may have been that Ms. Chu Thi V. was upset about family matters and took her two children to the river to commit suicide. It is known that, in addition to her two children, Ms. V. was two months pregnant with her third child.
