A woman working in Nanjing city, Jiangsu province, China lost her wallet containing bank cards, ID card and 268 yuan (US$39) in cash in 2007, according to SCMP.
Because the amount of money in the wallet was not large, the woman did not report it to the police. She then moved to Anhui province to live and work. A man picked up the wallet, took it home and forgot about it.
Last year, he found it while cleaning out his house and brought the wallet to the Nanjing City Police. From the ID card in the wallet, the police identified the owner and contacted her, but the woman did not want to travel all the way to Nanjing just to get her belongings and some money back.
Last weekend, Nanjing police decided to solve the problem by transferring money to the woman's WeChat social media account.
