In 2004, Ha Cho Tong, a Mong ethnic minority veteran from Dong Duoi village, Tay Son commune (Ky Son district), raised 3 buffaloes, 6 cows, 9 goats, and several other poultry using a confined farming system. He meticulously selected the breeds of cattle and followed proper feeding, vaccination, and barn hygiene practices. When his buffaloes and cows contracted foot-and-mouth disease, he proactively treated them before seeking help from the commune's veterinarian. His buffaloes, cows, and goats were healthy, grew quickly, and he often chose to sell them at a good price. He then expanded his livestock farming to increase the size of his herd.

In 2008, his family owned 7 buffaloes, 35 cows, 20 goats, and a flock of poultry... He also applied the knowledge he gained from training to farming, such as introducing new varieties of corn and rice to sloping land, with over 3 hectares of corn, 1 hectare of wet rice, and 2 hectares of elephant grass for buffalo and cattle feed, and planting some other fruit trees such as plums and peaches... Each year, his family earned an income of 50 million VND.

With improved living standards, his family has the means to participate in community activities. He also regularly shares his experience in production and livestock farming techniques with other villagers.
