Choosing the mechanical profession, he went to all the mechanical workshops in the district to work for hire to gain experience and improve his skills. At the end of 2009, he opened a mechanical workshop at home. Thanks to his diligence, hard work, and responsibility for his work, his establishment gradually gained prestige and was sought out by many customers.

At the same time, he actively researched and learned from the experiences of large mechanical workshops to improve designs, techniques as well as survey the market for the next steps. Currently, his mechanical workshop is the largest in the commune. He handles most of the work at the mechanical workshop himself. When there are many orders, he hires 2 more workers, with a salary of 3 - 4 million VND/month.

Realizing that the terrain of Pan village is steep hills, suitable for developing livestock farming, especially cows. At the end of 2015, with the help of the Commune Veterans Association, Mr. Thang borrowed capital from the Social Policy Bank, invested in buying 4 breeding cows and 1 bull, each worth 14-15 million VND.

He raises cows in a completely confined barn; he grows 2.5 hectares of elephant grass in his family's hill garden to feed the cows. Every year he sells 3-4 cows/batch, at a price of 20 million VND/cow. In addition to the economic benefits, raising cows in a confined barn also takes advantage of the source of fertilizer for crops. Every year, Mr. Thang earns a profit of more than 10 million VND from selling cow manure to orange and tangerine farms.

Knowing how to calculate and apply the motto "short-term to long-term", difficulties were gradually overcome. Now Mr. Thang's family has a good fortune with a mechanical workshop, 12 cows, a herd of over 250 pigs, 3 hectares of acacia forest, bringing in an annual income of 200 - 250 million VND.

Mr. Thang shared: “Production and business are not always smooth sailing, like pork prices sometimes drop. So the most important thing is to be steadfast, only then can you sustain your business in the direction you have chosen.”
