Painter was hacked to death on the spot while drinking water in neighbor's house

On the morning of January 23, Mr. Nguyen Tan - Chairman of the People's Committee of Dien Hoang Commune (Dien Chau) said that a murder case had just occurred in the commune, causing the death of a man.

The victim was Mr. Hoang Thanh Tra, residing in Thanh Nam hamlet, Dien Hoang commune (Dien Chau). It is known that Mr. Tra worked as a painter.
According to Mr. Tan, at around 8:30 p.m. on January 22, at a resident's house in Thanh Nam hamlet, a group of young men on motorbikes, carrying knives, broke into the house and slashed Mr. Tra while he was sitting drinking water.
Before that, at around 7pm that same evening, Mr. Tra went to a ward meeting in Dien My commune (Dien Chau). After sitting for about 10 minutes, a group of young men called Mr. Tra out to talk. There was an exchange of words between Mr. Tra and the group of young men, and then a fight broke out. At this time, after being stopped by everyone, Mr. Tra left.
However, the group of young men did not give up and continued to run to Dien Hoang to hunt for Mr. Tra. Not finding Mr. Tra at home, the group searched the entire commune. When they found Mr. Tra drinking water at a neighbor's house, the group ran in and slashed him with knives.
As a result, Mr. Tra was slashed many times, one of which severed his carotid artery. The victim was taken to the emergency room but died on the way.
According to Mr. Tan, this group of young men consisted of 3 people from Dien My commune. When the fight broke out in Dien My commune, Dien My commune police continued to monitor and follow this group. When this group rushed in to slash Mr. Tra, the police forces of the 2 communes coordinated to arrest 1 person, the remaining people escaped. At the scene, the subjects left behind 5 knives.
Upon receiving the news, Dien Chau District Police reported to Nghe An Police and coordinated with Dien Hoang Commune Police to protect the scene. The arrested subject was taken to Dien Chau District Police headquarters.
Lieutenant Colonel Tran Van Khang - Deputy Head of Dien Chau District Police confirmed the above case and said that the Investigation Police Agency is investigating and cannot yet provide the identity of the subject or the cause of the case.
