Trump Supporter Threatens to Assassinate Clinton If She Wins

A Donald Trump supporter has vowed to stage a coup or revolution if Hillary Clinton becomes US president.

"I feel like Hillary needs to be taken out of there if she's going to be in government," Dan Bowman, 50, told CNN. "I'm going to do everything in my power to get her out of government, if I'm a patriot, I'm going to do that."

In an earlier interview with the Boston Globe, Bowman also said he hoped there would be a coup to oust Hillary if she became president.

"She should be in jail or shot. I think so. We're going to have a revolution and push them out of the White House. There's going to be a lot of blood but that's what it's going to be," he said. "I'm going to do whatever I can for my country."

A spokesman for the US Secret Service said yesterday that the agency had noted Mr. Bowman's threat to Mrs. Hillary but did not reveal any further information.

Mr Trump's campaign also denounced supporters' threats of violence.

"We reject violence in any form and will not allow it to be a part of our campaign," the Republican campaign said in a statement. "Those who hold these unacceptable views do not represent the millions of Americans who are tired of a rigged Washington system and will make their voices heard at the polls on November 8."

Mr Trump's campaign also dismissed the Republican candidate's call to jail Mrs Hillary and described the assassination threat as a joke.
