Previously, in mid-June, Yahoo announced that it would stop supporting the old Yahoo Messenger platform and officially end it today, August 5. From tomorrow, the company will only have software based on the new platform, mainly operating on mobile operating systems and only saving the friend list. The new version is in beta while the old Yahoo Messenger ends at version 11.

Sharing her regrets, according to Ms. Hoang Linh (Nghia Tan, Hanoi), there is no disappointment like when Yahoo closed the Blog page before. The reason is because users are now too familiar with Facebook and it has completely replaced Yahoo Messenger for a long time. "Today is an opportunity for people like me to see and keep memories for the last time. It is also an opportunity for interesting nostalgia," Ms. Linh said.

Yahoo's chat software held a unique position when the Internet first entered Vietnam, deeply attached to the 7x and 8x generations. In addition to Messenger, Yahoo later also had the Yahoo 360 service and later 360 Plus, both of which were very famous and popular.However, as Facebook grew, most people no longer remembered the name Yahoo.

The new chat application is built by Yahoo on mobile, web platform and integrated directly into Yahoo Mail. The service has a modern interface, fast image sending speed, support for GIF images and recall sent messages - the main feature of the new version. Currently, the new Yahoo Messenger does not have its own application on Windows and Mac, but the company said it will release it soon.
