A recent report by the World Instant Noodles Association (WINA) shows that instant noodle consumption in Vietnam has increased sharply again after two years of decline. Accordingly, in 2017, Vietnamese people consumed 5.06 billion noodle packages, an increase of nearly 3% compared to the previous year and 5.4% compared to 2015. Vietnam ranked 5th in noodle consumption in the world after China, Indonesia, Japan and India.
According to WINA, approximately 100 billion packages are produced each year.Noodles are consumed worldwide. According toAccording to Euromonitor, the value of instant noodles consumed globally in recent years has increased at a rate of nearly 40%, from 44 billion USD (2013) to 61 billion USD (2017).
In Vietnam alone, the increase in noodle consumption is due to the market having many choices. On the other hand, there has been strong participation of many domestic and foreign enterprises.
Recently, 2-3 companies have announced that they will enter this market in cooperation with foreign enterprises. In addition, instant noodle products imported from other countries have also flooded into Vietnam in recent years. The variety of choices has stimulated consumers to want to buy this product more.
Many businesses operating in the instant noodle industry also reported that sales have increased again. A representative of Acecook Vietnam Joint Stock Company said,The company's half-year revenue grew 8% year-on-year.According to him, the company's business is developing well thanks to the improving market.
Similarly, bincome statementColusa - Milike Food Joint Stock Company also showed that the company's net revenue in the first six months of the year increased by more than 10% over the same period last year, reaching VND281 billion.
