Mr. Bui Ngoc Canh, the 5th grandson of "daughter-in-law" Le Thi Lien, said: In the past, Ms. Lien was originally from Van Dien commune (Nam Dan). Her family was poor so she had to work as a servant for Mr. Phan's family since she was 12 years old. Finally, thanks to her hard-working and diligent nature, the servant girl was chosen by Mr. Phan's family to be their daughter-in-law. Ms. Lien married Mr. Phan's eldest son, Mr. Bui Ngoc Long.

Wherever they go, they have to go together,” said Mr. Canh.

Mr. Long is 112 years old this year but his health is still stable. Mr. Canh and other villagers said that Mr. Long still goes around the village cutting grass every day. He can even push a modified wheelbarrow to carry vegetables. In particular, Mr. Long can still thread a needle to sew clothes.

Even though he is 112 years old, Mr. Long can still do everything by himself.

Mr. Canh also added that every day, Mr. Long still regularly eats 2 bowls of rice and only eats with sesame salt. Occasionally, he eats a couple of pieces of boiled pork, but never eats stir-fried or grilled food. As for drinking water, Mr. Long always drinks warm water. What is special is that despite his old age, Mr. Long can still go out to play around the neighborhood and does not need to use a cane to walk. And Mr. Long also does the toilet and laundry by himself without the help of his children and grandchildren.

When asked how many children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren Mr. Long has, Mr. Canh said: "Right now I can't remember how many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-grandchildren he has. I only remember that Mr. Long currently has 17 great-grandchildren"./.
