Former President Truong Tan Sang presents multi-purpose lifebuoys to poor fishermen in Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - The multi-purpose life jacket set includes many useful tools to help fishermen in emergency situations due to storms, floods or incidents, prolonging their existence at sea, waiting for rescue forces to come to help.
On the afternoon of November 14, in Nghi Thuy ward, Cua Lo town, Nghe An, comrade Truong Tan Sang - former Politburo member, former President, and leaders of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society visited and presented multi-purpose life buoys to fishermen in the province.
Also attending from Nghe An province were comrades: Nguyen Van Thong - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province; Bui Dinh Long - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and leaders of the Provincial Red Cross Society and Cua Lo town.

Former President Truong Tan Sang and leaders of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society presented 1,000 multi-purpose life jackets to poor fishermen in difficult circumstances in Nghe An province.
These life jackets are allocated to Cua Lo town 300 sets, Nghi Loc district 200 sets, Dien Chau district 200 sets, Quynh Luu district 250 sets and Hoang Mai town 50 sets.
The multi-purpose life jacket set includes many useful tools to help fishermen in emergencies due to storms, floods or accidents to prolong their existence at sea, waiting for rescue forces to come to help.

Each life jacket set includes 1 polyester fabric buoyancy jacket, 1 polyester fabric warm-keeping suit, 1 plastic buoy, 1 polyester fabric head, face and ear cap, 1 pair of lightweight plastic shoes for underwater use, 1 pair of glasses to cover and protect eyes, 1 pair of rubber socks, 1 pair of cotton socks, 1 whistle, 2 hand-held glasses, 1 pair of rubber gloves, 1 flashlight and AA batteries, 8 portions of dry food according to the Ministry of National Defense's dry food standards, 1 plastic bag containing the product set, with a zipper.
Speaking at the awarding ceremony, comrade Tran Quoc Hung - Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society emphasized that this is an extremely meaningful program and is even more meaningful when the 2021 natural disaster season is approaching; at the same time, it is also a very practical activity to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Red Cross Society.

Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee emphasized that this is a very practical and meaningful gift, accompanying fishermen to safely go out to sea and stick to the sea; thereby contributing to the Party Committee, government and people to well implement economic development goals, reduce risks at sea caused by natural disasters.
Thanking the attention and support of comrade Truong Tan Sang, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, along with central ministries, branches, organizations and individuals for the province's socio-economic development activities; acknowledging and thanking the noble hearts of organizations, individuals and philanthropists who have always supported and accompanied the social and humanitarian activities organized by the Red Cross Society to help disadvantaged people and poor fishermen develop the economy and sustainably reduce poverty, comrade Bui Dinh Long pledged that Nghe An province will use these gifts most effectively.

The ceremony is part of a program to donate 15,000 multi-purpose life jackets to poor and near-poor fishermen in difficult circumstances to prevent natural disasters and incidents at sea in 12 provinces and cities in the Central region: Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa.
