Nguyen Dinh Thuc seriously violated canon law and Church regulations.

(Baonghean.vn) - Recently, attending the Mass presided over by priest Nguyen Dinh Thuc, we were extremely upset, not understanding why a priest would do things that go against the provisions of Canon Law and the Church's regulations on the duties of a priest.

It is extremely offensive when Father Thuc spends most of a ceremony to speak ill of the regime, mobilize parishioners to file complaints, cite evidence from the parish, and go to other localities to promote his actions. However, he is committing a serious violation by turning the church into a place to promote profane acts, uncultured and unethical words in a sacred place.

Nguyen Dinh Thuc took advantage of preaching in church to distort the truth, oppose the government, and incite people.

In Section 1, Sacred Places, Canon 1220 clearly states, “It is the duty of all those who are responsible for the care of churches to take care of the cleanliness and beauty of churches, worthy of the house of God, and to remove anything that is not in keeping with the holiness of the churches.” Why do you preach about issues that are not within your authority, tormenting and stuffing them into us?

More seriously, you violated Article 1239 of the Code of Canon Law: “Both fixed and movable altars must be reserved for the worship of God alone, and must not be used for any profane purposes.” Yet you kept on inciting us from beginning to end, and you only performed the sacraments required in the Mass perfunctorily. Why? We are not lost sheep, we are not deaf, mute, blind, unable to hear or see, at least we have read the holy books to know these things.

You should have honestly recognized and encouraged the dignity and unique role of the laity in the mission of the Church. You should also have honestly respected the true freedom that everyone has the right to enjoy in this earthly society. Why do you oppress us like this? While testing whether the spirits come from God, you should use the spirit of faith to discover, joyfully recognize and diligently develop the diverse charisms of the laity, from the smallest charism to the highest charism. Those charisms are to lead the laity further on the spiritual path. Why do you put us in trouble?

Be humble, Father, Saint Bernard said: “How many people are humbled, but are not humble. If you are not humbled, you will never attain humility.” Father, do not beat your chest, do not consider yourself everything, that is not your business, you are going against God's commandments, do you know that?"

Father mobilized us to file a complaint, the authorities intervened not to go, he said if we don't go by car, we will go on foot, if we don't come in one day, we will come in two days, or in a week. So you forgot to perform the daily mass, the duty of a priest is to celebrate the mass. You violated Article 1244 of the Code of Canon Law, "The establishment, transfer and cancellation of feast days and penitential days for the universal Church belongs to the supreme authority of the Church alone..." That authority does not belong to you, if you want to go somewhere, do anything, leave the church for a day, two days, a week for a legitimate reason of the Church or for medical treatment, you must report to the Bishop's Office so that the superior can send someone to take care of us, why are you so arbitrary and intemperate?

Before you left, you said you were very powerful, but why did you tell us last night in Dong Thap that whoever goes, go. It was disappointing and despicable, Dad. We got what we got when we followed you "to demand justice". In the end, when you achieved your goal of attracting a large crowd, creating a hot spot, posting pictures on social media to call for support for yourself, you abandoned us. It hurts so much, Dad!

Parishioners were bewildered when Nguyen Dinh Thuc treated them like "abandoning their children" in Dien Hong commune (Dien Chau).

You have violated Article 1211 of the Code of Canon Law: “Sacred places are desecrated by acts of grave indecency committed there and have caused scandal to the faithful...”. You used our parish altar to insult and curse in an unbelievable way. When talking about “Holy Discipline” as the work of Christ, so “Absolutely, no one, even a priest, has the right to add, remove or change anything in the Liturgy”, yet you deliberately spread out your sermons, presented about the world situation, the country and many irrelevant events, attracting, inciting, and speaking ill of one person after another, why is society so dark in your eyes? Without us, without the security of this society, would you still be able to stand in the church and preach?

The Holy Synod has repeatedly reminded everyone of the importance of the office he is performing. “In the work of renewal of the Church, the priesthood has a very important and increasingly difficult role to play, so it is useful to discuss more extensively and deeply the matter of priests. What is said here applies to all priests, especially those who have the care of souls, and it is appropriate to the matters concerning priests. In fact, by virtue of the sacred ordination and mission received from the Bishops, priests are appointed to serve Christ, Teacher, Priest and King, and to participate in his ministry for the building up of the Church on earth as the People of God, the Body of Christ and the Temple of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, in order to support priests more effectively in their ministry and to support their lives more fully in the midst of the profound and rapid changes in the pastoral environment and in human conditions”.

On the morning of February 15, 2017, at Dong Thap church, Nguyen Dinh Thuc continued to use words to incite people and oppose the government.

More seriously, you made a mistake in Chapter II of the Priestly Ministry, Part 1 on the Duties of Priests: “The house of prayer, the place where the Eucharist is celebrated and reserved, where the faithful gather and receive comfort and support in adoring the presence of the Son of God, our Redeemer, who is offered for us on the altar of sacrifice, must therefore be spacious, worthy of prayer and solemn rites. It is here that the pastor and the faithful are invited to express their gratitude to the One who, through his humanity, unceasingly pours out supernatural life into the members of his Body. Priests must diligently cultivate their knowledge and liturgical art, so that through their ministry the Christian community may praise God, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, more and more perfectly.” You yourself have turned our parish church into a dirty place, an unacceptable place when the words that come from your mouth come out.

It would not be wrong when the Holy Apostle testified: “For as through the disobedience of one man many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of one man many will be made righteous” (Rom 5:19). That is it, Father, we are poor sheep and we are also aware of that, respectfully hope that you will quickly awaken so that we can enjoy the light of God's face, we only want you not to speak with arrogance or anger, but must come from charity. Those who shepherd the flock of Christ must avoid the evil habit of seeking their own interests and not those of Christ, and using those whom Christ shed His blood to redeem to serve their own desires. Having shepherded the flock of Christ, one must love Him. (Saint Augustine, on the Gospel according to Saint John, second reading for the feast of Saint Nicholas).
