With a small mistake in operation, the US Marine Corps' AAV-7 armored vehicle immediately turned into a fireball.

According to the Military page, amphibious vehicleThe US Marine Corps' AAV-7 crashed last Friday (September 15) injuring 14 US soldiers. The cause has been investigated.

Specifically, the AAV-7 amphibious armored vehicle was in the process of marching when it got stuck in the mud, the vehicle's crew tried to get it out. However, at this time the AAV-7 accidentally crashed into a nearby fuel pipeline.

The collision caused fuel from the pipeline to leak around the vehicle and catch fire. The source of the fire is still unknown, but the collision created a huge fireball that engulfed the entire AAV-7, seriously injuring everyone inside, including the Marines, crew, and several outsiders.

The AAV-7 is an amphibious armored vehicle used by the US Marine Corps from 1972 to the present day. This armored vehicle weighs 29.1 tons and can carry up to 21 soldiers and a crew of 3.

With a maximum armor thickness of 45 mm, this amphibious vehicle is extremely suitable for carrying out amphibious assaults.

The maximum speed that an AAV-7 can reach is up to 72 km/h on the road thanks to a diesel engine system with a capacity of more than 520 horsepower. When wading, this vehicle can move at a maximum speed of about 13.2 km/h.

Because the vehicle used a diesel engine, the cause of the fire due to the engine and fuel in the vehicle was eliminated as soon as the incident occurred.

Of the 14 people injured in the AAV-7 incident, five are currently in critical condition. The US Navy has not released any further information about the identities or ranks of the victims in this accident to ensure the privacy of them and their families.
