Reasons why SLNA did not participate in the 2020 National U17 Cup
(Baonghean.vn) - According to information from the Organizing Committee of the 2020 National U17 Football Cup, the new U17 champion SLNA will not participate in the tournament. This is a tournament, a very good opportunity for young players to have the opportunity to compete.
In 2020, in addition to the National U17 and U19 Football Tournaments, young players will have two additional tournaments, the U17 and U19 National Cups. This is the first year the Vietnam Football Federation has decided to add more tournaments to increase the number of matches per year.
Accordingly, there are 16 teams participating in the 2020 National U17 Cup; Group A includes: Viettel (H), CAND, Hanoi, Nam Dinh, Than Quang Ninh; Group B: HAGL (H), Nutifood Academy, Kon Tum, SHB Da Nang; Group C: B.Binh Duong (H), Dong Nai, Hallmen Ho Chi Minh City, Tay Ninh and Group D: Ho Chi Minh City (H), An Giang, Long An, Saigon.

The tournament, which will take place at PVF in November, is expected to be very attractive because the team will receive a prize of 140 million VND, and the runner-up will receive 90 million VND. SLNA's absence from this tournament is quite a big surprise because SLNA is the champion of the 2020 National U17 Tournament.
According to research, the teamU17 SLNAcannot participate in this tournament due to financial reasons. Currently, the youth teams of Nghe An football team are using local budget sources and the 2020 National U17 Cup Football Tournament is not in the club's original plan. On the other hand, the U17 SLNA players also have to arrange to ensure cultural education.
The 2020 National U17 Cup is also a tournament outside the official competition system. Therefore, the leaders of the Nghe An team have found another solution for U17 players to play more.
In November, about 25 SLNA U17 players will play for Bac Ninh Club in the Third Division on loan. Currently, the 2020 National U17 champions are in Hanoi. Previously, the SLNA U19 team also played for Phu Tho Club in the Second Division after winning the 2020 National U19 bronze medal.
