On the morning of March 26, the body of a 10-year-old Vietnamese girl was found. Japanese police have just confirmed that she is Le Thi Nhat Linh, the girl whose family reported her missing since the morning of March 24.

According to NHK, at around 6:45 a.m. on March 26, a man who was fishing was shocked to discover the body of a little girl without any clothes, belongings or any contact documents, in a field next to a drainage canal in Abiko city, Chiba prefecture, Japan.

The man immediately contacted the police to report the incident. The police informed him that the girl had recently passed away.

Not long ago, NHK reported that Japanese police had verified the girl's identity and were heartbroken because she was Le Thi Nhat Linh, the 10-year-old daughter that Ms. Nguyen Thi Nguyen (31 years old, from Kien Thuy, Hai Phong) had asked the online community to find for the past two days.

Police are investigating the cause of Le Thi Nhat Linh's death, but many people predict that she was molested and murdered.

In extreme pain, the family confirmed that Le Thi Nhat Linh had passed away.

"She passed away. Thank you everyone for sharing, helping and caring for her," Nguyen Thi Nguyen's family painfully shared.

Vu Thao Phuong, Nhat Linh's aunt, wrote in tears: "You are going to a far away place, where there is only peace, without the bad people in society. My beloved daughter."

Classmate Nhat Linh said: "Linh just transferred to another school but is very sociable with her friends. When we heard the news of Linh's accident, everyone was sad and scared."

Parents of children in Nhat Linh's class are very confused and from now on do not dare let their children go out alone.

Earlier, Japanese police mobilized a helicopter to search for Le Thi Nhat Linh after a Vietnamese third-grade girl went missing on her way to school on the morning of March 24.

Living near Mutsumi Station - Matsudo - Chiba province, Nguyen Thi Nguyen said that 4 days ago (March 22), she and her second son (3 years old) returned to Vietnam for work, Le Thi Nhat Linh stayed with her father to go to school. That day, her husband took their daughter to school and then returned to work at an IT company, but normally the girl went to class by herself because the school was near home. While on the train, the teacher called to inform that Nhat Linh was absent, so her husband returned to school. By about 11 o'clock that day, there was no information about Nhat Linh, so the teacher and her family went to report to the police.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Nguyen said that Le Thi Nhat Linh never dared to miss school without permission, and even wanted to go to school even when she was sick.

Nguyen Thi Nguyen and her husband have lived in Japan for many years. When Le Thi Nhat Linh was about 2-3 years old, Nguyen Thi Nguyen took her to Japan to live with her parents and study there.

For more than a day, the Vietnamese community in Japan has been stirred up by the incident of Le Thi Nhat Linh going missing in Japan after being taken to school by her father. Accordingly, information about the search for Le Thi Nhat Linh spread quickly on Facebook:

"Everyone at home has cried their eyes out. Come home, we're all waiting for you to come back. Your parents, grandparents, sister and everyone are worried about you, you know that? Where are you? Come back to me, you little girl.

Looking at your picture, I can't help but feel sad. She looks so pretty and lovely. She's so innocent and pure, so obedient, why did this happen to her. She's only 10 years old, oh my god. I can't do anything, Linh. Please come back, I'll hold you tight and not let anyone hurt you.

The child in the photo is Le Thi Nhat Linh (my younger sister), 10 years old. She settled and lived with her parents in Japan. Her mother had been back in Vietnam for 3 days when she was kidnapped in Japan. 2 days before, her teacher called to tell her that she had not come to school (because the school was right near her house, she had walked to school by herself). Her father there reported to the police but there was no trace of her.

I read online that thanks to the rapid spread of Facebook, a mother found her child after 2 days of being kidnapped. My family is now sitting on a pile of fire, the mother and child are completely devastated.

She lives near Mutsumi Station, Matsudo, Chiba Prefecture. She has not been found yet. Her family has reported to the police and is searching for her. We hope that the Vietnamese community in Japan and especially those in the area near Mutsumi Station and Matsudo, if they have seen her or have information about her, please report it to Matsudohigashi Police...

The child is identified as 130cm tall, with shoulder-length black hair. Wearing a grey Parker jacket, pink tights, white and black shoes, a yellow school cap, and a red backpack.

It is heartbreaking that something no one expected has happened. The Vietnamese online community deeply mourns Le Thi Nhat Linh, shares condolences with Nguyen Thi Nguyen's family and hopes that the Japanese police will soon find the cause of her death and the perpetrator.

Determined to find the murderer of baby Nhat Linh

According to NHK, Japanese police discovered traces of strangulation on Le Thi Nhat Linh's body, so they believe she may have been murdered before her body was disposed of.

A security camera recorded a car appearing on Linh's route to school and apparently following her for about a month, but the car's license plate was covered.

At the time of her disappearance, Nhat Linh was wearing a gray jacket, a yellow hat and a red backpack.

Police received a report that on the afternoon of March 24, a girl identified as Linh was near a park in Matsudo City with several other people.

In Japan, 99% of children go to school by themselves from grade 1 for safety, so the incident not only shocked the Vietnamese community living and working in Japan but also the people of this country.

At a press conference on the evening of March 26, the Matsudo City Board of Education announced that no clues had been found about the killer. The head of the board repeatedly apologized, expressed anger, and said that he would definitely find the killer of the little girl Nhat Linh.

Currently, Japan has mobilized 100 police officers to expand the investigation and search for the perpetrator.
