Former Vice President awards Vu A Dinh scholarships to students in Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - Awarding 140 scholarships, former Vice President Truong My Hoa hopes that disadvantaged students from ethnic minority areas will continue to strive to study well and make worthy contributions to the cause of national construction and development.
On the morning of September 17, in Con Cuong district, Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund, "For Beloved Truong Sa - Hoang Sa" Club in collaboration with Nghe An Provincial Youth Union, Department of Education and Training and related units organized the program "Awarding scholarships for the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 school years to ethnic minority students of Nghe An province".
Attending the program on behalf of the Scholarship Fund were comrade Truong My Hoa - former Secretary of the Party Central Committee, former Vice President, President of the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund, Head of the Club "For Beloved Hoang Sa - Truong Sa".
On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrades: Bui Thanh An - Member of the Standing Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee; Vi Van Son - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Head of the Provincial Ethnic Committee; Le Van Luong - Member of the Central Executive Committee of the Youth Union, Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Youth Union; Nguyen Dinh Hung - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Secretary of the Con Cuong District Party Committee, and representatives of local leaders, accompanying agencies and units.

Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund aims to honor and commend students who are in difficult circumstances in mountainous, remote and isolated areas but have overcome their difficulties to excel in life and study. From there, we encourage, motivate and inspire dreams and ambitions in each student, so that they have more opportunities and environments to demonstrate their role as good children, good students, and good grandchildren of Uncle Ho.
At the program, Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund awarded 140 scholarships to 140 students who are typical examples of Thai, Kho Mu, Mong, Tho ethnic groups in mountainous districts of Nghe An. Among them, many students have especially difficult circumstances but have overcome adversity to achieve good academic results.

At the program, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training Dao Cong Loi said that in recent years, the Party and State's policies on education development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas have received specific attention in many areas. From the State budget, education development programs and projects and socialized resources have improved school facilities and equipment to gradually meet the requirements of improving the quality of education.
Up to now, the number of solidly built classrooms at all levels in ethnic minority and mountainous areas has reached 76.9%; the rate of national standard schools has reached 71.6%. The quality of education for ethnic minority students has many positive changes, the annual high school graduation rate is over 97.6%, the rate of ethnic minority students passing colleges and universities is increasing. In the 2021-2022 school year, 15 ethnic minority students were commended and rewarded by the Provincial People's Committee for achieving high scores in the 2022 high school graduation exam.

Acknowledging the important achievements in education of Nghe An province, comrade Truong My Hoa hopes that in the coming time, local authorities and sectors will continue to pay attention and accompany students to promote the positive results that the locality has achieved.
For students in difficult circumstances, those in remote areas, ethnic minority areas, he sent words of encouragement to them to continue to strive and study well. In the future, they will become good children, good students, useful citizens, and make worthy contributions to the construction and development of the country.
