Nguyen Thi Muon scored a hat-trick as the Vietnamese women's national team thrashed Bahrain.

Bahrain was too weak, so the Vietnamese team had an easy opening match, crushing their opponent 8-0 and taking the top spot in Group C after the first round of matches.

In the 3rd minute, the Vietnamese team scored the opening goal thanks to Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet following a corner kick. With the goal, the Vietnamese players' morale was further boosted.

And in the 20th minute, Kim Hong dribbled past both the Bahrain defender and goalkeeper to score the second goal for the Vietnamese team.

Just two minutes later, Kim Hong delivered a precise cross for Nguyen Thi Xuyen to increase the score to 3-0.

Before the first half ended, the Vietnamese team scored two more goals thanks to Nguyen Thi Muon and Nguyen Thi Lieu (38', 45'+1).

In the second half, the Vietnamese team, despite playing at a slower pace, completely dominated the game. As a result, coach Tran Van Phat's players scored three more goals, courtesy of Nguyen Thi Muon in the 58th and 70th minutes and Nguyen Thi Kim Tien in the 63rd minute.

With an 8-0 victory, the Vietnamese national team had a favorable start in the 2014 Asian Cup qualifiers and took the top spot in Group C because in the subsequent match, Hong Kong (China) only narrowly defeated Kyrgyzstan 2-1.

The next match for the Vietnamese national team will be against Kyrgyzstan at 00:00 on May 25th (Vietnam time).
