Former Governor Nguyen Van Binh appointed Head of Central Economic Commission

On the morning of April 11, the ceremony to announce the Politburo's Decision to appoint Mr. Nguyen Van Binh as Head of the Central Economic Commission to replace Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue took place.

Mr. Nguyen Van Binh was born in 1961 in Phu Tho, has a PhD in science, studied finance and banking in Russia.

He used to be an expert at the Foreign Economic Affairs Department, State Bank of Vietnam. From here, he held various positions such as Deputy Head of the International Organizations Department, Head of the World Bank Department, and the International Cooperation Department, State Bank.

He was then appointed Deputy Director, Head of the International Credit Project Management Board, then Director, Chief of Office of the Governor of the State Bank.

He held the position of Deputy Director of the State Bank of Vietnam, Hanoi branch for 4 years (1998-2001).

He then left the State Bank of Vietnam and moved to Russia to work as Vice Chairman, then Acting Chairman of the Board of Directors of the International Investment Bank (MIB) in this country.

He returned to Vietnam in 2005 and joined the State Bank of Vietnam as Chief Inspector. He was then appointed Deputy Governor of the State Bank.

At the 11th Party Congress, he was elected to the 11th Central Committee. At the first session of the 13th National Assembly, he was approved by the National Assembly as Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam.

He is a member of the 12th Central Committee and a member of the 12th Politburo.
