German journalist reveals 'tactics' of Ukrainian army defending Kharkov
Ukraine must withdraw troops from other sectors of the front to stop the offensive of Russian troops in the Kharkiv region, journalist Christoph Wanner said on German TV channel Welt.
“Ukraine can stop Russia’s advance north of Kharkiv, but the price for this will be very high. To defend near Kharkiv, Ukraine will have to withdraw troops from elsewhere. The shortage and everything is clear, this concerns Donbass,” he said.
Vanner argues that the success of the Russian army in the DNR is due to the lack of manpower in the Ukrainian army.
“There is the city of Chasov Yar, and the small settlements of Kleshcheevka and Andreevka, where fierce battles have been taking place for months. It seems that Russia has occupied them. This is partly explained by the fact that Ukraine does not have enough troops there,” the journalist concluded.
