North Korean leader Kim Jong Un congratulates Vietnam on National Day
In a congratulatory letter to Vietnam on its National Day on September 2, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un expressed his hope to continue to develop stronger cooperative and friendly relations with Vietnam.

According to Yonhap News Agency (South Korea), this message was broadcast on the state media agency, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) today, September 2.
Accordingly, in his congratulatory letter to Vietnam on the occasion of National Day September 2, Mr. Kim Jong Un expressed his "belief that the cooperative and friendly relationship between the two parties and two countries with a long history and tradition will develop stronger than ever."
Also in the letter, the North Korean leader mentioned his first official friendly visit to Vietnam in early March this year. This event, he said, created "an important opportunity" to strengthen and develop bilateral and friendly relations between the two countries.
Right before his visit to Vietnam, at the end of February this year, Mr. Kim Jong Un arrived in Hanoi, Vietnam to attend the second summit with US President Donald Trump.
During this trip, he also met and discussed with General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong and many other high-ranking officials of Vietnam. During those meetings, the North Korean leader also expressed his hope to promote cooperation and exchanges with Vietnam in all fields.
