North Korea's state news agency (KCNA) reported today, November 15, that leader Kim Jong-un inspected the Kumsong factory specializing in producing locomotives and emphasized the importance of production activities based on the spirit of self-reliance. |

Kim Jong-un said that North Korea's locomotives are made mostly from domestic parts and expressed pride in the country's ability to develop itself in the face of international sanctions. |

“These are not just means of transportation, but also steel horses of the spirit of self-reliance, opening up the way for economic development. The workers at the factory have dealt a fatal blow to the enemies who are frantically suffocating us,” Mr. Kim Jong-un said at the Kumsong factory. |

According to Yonhap, the North Korean leader's personal visits to businesses in recent weeks are part of an effort to demonstrate to the international community that the North Korean economy is not affected by sanctions. |
