Cua Lo Water Plant with a capacity of 10,000m3/day will be operational before April 30, 2018.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of November 14, Mr. Huynh Thanh Dien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee inspected the construction progress of the project to upgrade and expand the clean water supply system, the drainage and wastewater treatment project of Cua Lo Town.

The project to upgrade and expand the water supply system of Cua Lo town is invested by the town water supply joint stock company with a total capital of 16.5 million USD. The joint venture of contractors Ha Huy, Viwaseen and Vinanconex 12 has been undertaking the construction since July 2017.

The project includes main items such as construction of a water plant with a capacity of 10,000 m³/day/nightin Nghi Hoa commune (Nghi Loc); office area and booster pump station in Nghi Huong ward; water pipeline system from the factory to Cua Lo. Up to this point, the contractor has implemented 21% of the package value.

The Cua Lo town drainage and wastewater treatment system project was implemented since 2001 and has now completed phase 1. Currently, the wastewater collection pipeline has been connected to 150 hotels and restaurants on a number of roads and 700 manholes have been dredged and treated; the construction and installation of machinery and equipment for 5 pumping stations have been completed.

After the field inspection, Mr. Huynh Thanh Dien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee highly appreciated the efforts of the town, the investor and the contractors in overcoming difficulties to implement the project on schedule. At the same time, he requested the relevant departments, branches and localities to support the investor in site clearance, granting land use right certificates; completing documents and appraising arising issues during the construction process, and disbursing capital for the project.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also directed Cua Lo town and relevant units to complete the procedures for project acceptance, develop operating regulations and select a unit to manage the wastewater treatment plant; Strengthen the management of water supply in the area. At the same time, he directed contractors to implement phase 2 of the projects to put them into use before April 30, 2018 to serve the new tourist season./.
