Hoang Mai Water Treatment Plant: Water supply expected to begin on July 30th.

(Baonghean.vn) - Continuing to accelerate progress, starting trial runs, and supplying water by July 30th was the directive of Mr. Huynh Thanh Dien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - during a working session with departments, agencies, Quynh Luu district, Hoang Mai town, and related units regarding the construction of the Hoang Mai water plant on the morning of June 3rd in Hoang Mai town.

The Hoang Mai Water Treatment Plant is located in the area bordering Quynh Trang commune, Hoang Mai town, and Tan Thang commune, Quynh Luu district, using water from Vuc Mau lake. The main water supply pipeline starts from the Hoang Mai Water Treatment Plant area and ends at the Quynh Lap 1 Thermal Power Plant Project, with a total length of 20 km. Phase I is expected to have a capacity of 30,000 m3/day, and Phase II will upgrade it to 80,000 m3.

To date, the Hoang Mai water treatment plant is completing the leveling of the ground for the treatment tanks, control building, primary pumping station, internal roads, and electrical system. The investor has also imported a complete set of ductile iron pipes and fittings, and the pipe support and bearing system is 50% complete. Japanese technology and treatment are ready, and installation will proceed as each completed item is finished. The water treatment plant supplying water to the Hoa Sen Steel factory is expected to be installed this June.

Comrade Huynh Thanh Dien requested that Hoang Mai town promptly resolve the obstacles in land compensation and site clearance.

Currently, the People's Committee of Quynh Luu district has handed over 23 hectares of land for the construction site of the water treatment plant, ensuring compliance with the construction requirements in Phase I. Hoang Mai town has handed over 10.2 km of pipeline, with nearly 10 km remaining unhanded over due to difficulties in compensation and land clearance. To date, the total investment for the Hoang Mai water treatment plant project is over 125 billion VND.

Comrade Huynh Thanh Dien acknowledged the efforts made in land clearance work by Quynh Luu district, Hoang Mai town, and the investor. However, compared to the requirements, the progress of the Hoang Mai water plant still falls short of current demands.

The comrade also noted that departments, agencies, investors, and the two localities need to continue coordinating with relevant units and further accelerate the progress of land clearance work.
