Song Lam Cement Plant: Operating 24/7 during Tet holiday.

(Baonghean) - Due to the nature of the rotary kiln used for clinker production, which requires continuous operation, the Song Lam Cement Plant (belonging to The Vissai Cement Group, located in Do Luong district) maintained normal production during the Lunar New Year holiday of 2017.

At the same time, the fleets of trucks transporting clinker from here to other factories of the group also operate continuously to handle over 12,000 tons of clinker per day.

The two production lines of the Song Lam Cement Plant have a designed capacity of (2 x 6,000) = 12,000 tons of clinker per day, using technology from the Federal Republic of Germany. In the cement production line, the kiln is considered the "heart" of the plant, operating continuously year-round. Therefore, operation, monitoring, and maintenance are carried out regularly to ensure productivity, product quality, cost savings, and safety.

In addition, workers and experts must regularly monitor the parameters of the kiln system, such as: heat exchange towers, decomposition chambers, fuel supply systems, cooling chambers, fans, kiln drive systems, furnace head analysis, exhaust gas analysis, and analysis of each batch of clinker product…

“In principle, the production line is highly automated, with all equipment controlled and monitored from the central control room by foreign experts and Vietnamese engineers. However, each stage requires high concentration and close supervision to ensure the production of clinker for other factories as well as the safe and long-term operation of the plant,” affirmed Mr. Dinh Quoc Quyen, General Director of Song Lam Cement Joint Stock Company, when speaking about the plant's operation. Along with that, in quality management and supervision, it is necessary to accurately analyze the composition of input raw materials and output clinker to ensure the best possible quality control.

“Because continuous operation and supervision are required, the company arranges for staff to work three shifts every day. Even during the Lunar New Year holiday, the factory continues to operate three shifts continuously as usual. Based on the arrangement of staff and workers on duty during Tet, the company pays attention to motivating and ensuring everyone's rights are properly protected,” Mr. Dinh Quoc Quyen added.

During the period leading up to Tet (Lunar New Year), the Song Lam Cement Factory area is always bustling with a lively atmosphere of labor and production.

Among the 500 staff and workers working during Tet at the Song Lam Cement Plant, the workshop leaders are highly skilled and experienced individuals seconded from other plants in Ninh Binh, Ha Nam, etc., belonging to The Vissai Cement Group. Thus, they had to be away from home and loved ones during the traditional Tet holiday, but everyone was enthusiastic and dedicated to working for the development of the group.

Mr. An Hoc Thinh, currently the foreman of the kiln workshop at the factory, originally from Ninh Binh city, will be on duty with his team throughout the Tet holiday in Do Luong. Mr. Thinh shared: “Being away from my wife, children, and family during these days, but having hundreds of colleagues who are determined to ensure the factory's stable development, gives me even more motivation to strive harder. Besides, with the advent of smartphones and video calls, I can see my wife and children every day, chat, and share joys…”

The first spring of the Song Lam Cement Plant is bringing together many resources for development. The plant's operation not only creates jobs and income for hundreds of direct laborers but also provides opportunities for various sectors including road transport, seaports, and product distribution systems. More importantly, the plant's clinker production regulates and supplies the Vissai Cement Group's cement plants, providing cement for the construction and development of national infrastructure. Furthermore, a large portion of the product is exported to other countries, bringing significant value to the national economy…

“To encourage factory staff and workers to work with peace of mind during Tet, the company ensures that all benefits are provided in accordance with State and Group regulations. Each person will receive a Tet bonus equivalent to two months' salary; and will also be paid 300% of their daily wage for working during Tet.
