The self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS) has seized another town in Iraq.
According to Reuters, on October 4th, fighters from the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS) group stormed the town of Kubaisa in Anbar province, western Iraq.
This is the latest attack by IS in this desert region, where the jihadist forces have achieved a series of victories.

IS captured the town of Kubaisa two days after the nearby town of Hit fell, as the jihadist group sought to consolidate its control over towns west of Ramadi, the capital of Anbar province.
The fall of Kubaisa has jeopardized the strategic Ain al-Asad military base, which allows Iraqi forces to send troops and supplies to protect the Haditha dam further west, where several Sunni tribes and government forces are fighting against IS.
The Ain al-Asad base is located outside both Hit and Kubaisa.
According to an official at a hospital in the town of Hit, at least two civilians were killed and six others injured in Kubaisa.
After seizing Hit on October 2nd, IS fighters hoisted the group's flag on the roofs of the town hall and police stations, while IS vehicles patrolled the town's streets.
