130-year-old church burns fiercely at night
On the evening of August 5, a large fire burned down Trung Lao Church in Trung Truc Commune (Truc Ninh District, Nam Dinh), completely burning the ancient church built of ironwood.
At around 11pm on August 5, a fire broke out at Trung Lao Church (Trung Truc Commune, Truc Ninh District, Nam Dinh Province), burning down the entire church.
Witnesses at the scene said: When the fire was discovered, the church manager went down to inform parishioners and local authorities for rescue.

People shouted to each other and rang the bells repeatedly. Because the church was located in an open area, it caught the wind, the fire broke out fiercely, all efforts to put out the fire were ineffective. The entire large church burned fiercely for many hours.
By 7am this morning, the fire had gone out but the interior was still very hot and smoldering. Authorities are protecting the scene and working to find the cause.

The entire church was destroyed by fire, part of the roof collapsed and the ashes fell on it. No casualties have been reported yet.
Trung Lao Church was started to be built in 1888, built in Western architectural style combined with traditional Vietnamese architecture very meticulously. The time from start to completion lasted more than 10 years, so this is considered a beautiful, old church of Nam Dinh province.

The church is 50 meters long and 16 meters wide, designed with 11 compartments made of brick walls and covered with large-scale tiles. The interior of the church is made of wood.
Nam Dinh Provincial Police are coordinating with relevant authorities to conduct a crime scene investigation and estimate the damage.
