White House requests funding for 37 Aegis missile defense systems in Romania and Poland
The US administration has requested funding to build 37 Aegis missile defense systems in Romania and Poland, said Gary Pannett, director of the Missile Defense Agency's operations.

"In the 2019 budget, we requested $1.8 billion for Aegis BMD systems," Panett said at a Pentagon press conference.
The Missile Defense Agency will deliver 37 Aegis SM-3 missile defense system systems to Romania and Poland, as well as to several coastal ships.
On February 12, the US government submitted to Congress a draft budget for fiscal year 2019, which begins on October 1, 2018.
