White House requests funding for 37 Aegis missile defense systems in Romania and Poland
The US administration has requested funding to build 37 Aegis missile defense systems in Romania and Poland, said Gary Pannett, director of the Defense Missile Defense Agency's operations for missile defense systems.

"In the budget proposal for 2019, we requested $1.8 billion for Aegis BMD systems," Mr. Panett said at a press conference at the Pentagon.
The Missile Defense Agency will deliver 37 Aegis SM-3 missile defense system batteries to Romania and Poland, as well as to several coastal ships.
On February 12, the US government submitted to Congress a draft budget for fiscal year 2019, which begins on October 1, 2018.
