The school gave students homework on writing suicide notes.
A British school has received heavy criticism after it was discovered that it forced pupils to write suicide notes as part of a literature homework assignment.
The incident occurred at Thomas Tallis School in Kidbrooke, London, England. According to Independent, more than 60 students were asked by their teachers to take inspiration from the suicide scene in William Shakespeare's play Macbeth to write suicide notes to their loved ones.

Students were asked to use a suicide scene from a play as material for writing a suicide note. |
Many parents were outraged after discovering this and demanded that the school immediately stop this strange form of homework.
A parent of a student whose three friends had committed suicide said her daughter was devastated when asked to do the assignment.
"Luckily my daughter is a strong child. But other sensitive children can completely become depressed because of this," this parent commented.
Meanwhile, another person said: "It's right to teach children about Shakespeare's plays. But making them write suicide notes is not good. Whoever made this request should go back to the school where they were trained."
In response to the backlash from parents and a wave of criticism from public opinion, principal Caroyln Roberts publicly apologized and assured that a similar incident would not happen again./.
